Air Scrubber RECOjet

Application

Gas emissions and vapours are frequently produced by certain metal finishing processes and from chemical reactions during the treatment of industrial effluent. These gases and vapours are often extremely corrosive and can pose a substantial health hazard if inhaled. Control an reduction of these harmful vapour emissions are required by either federal, state or regional air pollution control agencies.

The RECOjet design represents a compact unit that combines and optimizes removal efficiency with economy, and requires a minimum of floor space.

Process description

The scrubbing liquid is introduced under high pressure by way of full cone injection spray nozzles into the chamber. The propulsive jet so produced creates a very finely dispersed spray, which entrains the pollutant emissions in an extremely efficient manner. The high exit velocity of the propulsive jet generates a pressure drop, which extracts the gas through the venture effect. The centrifugal mist eliminator that follows minimizes vapour loss and ensures that clean air stream is discharged into the atmosphere.

The RECOjet is ideal for use in many industries and for a wide range of processing applications, because it employs caustic soda or soda ash as the scrubbing medium. It can be commonly used for scrubbing of all acid vapour emissions, as well as: hydrogen sulphide (H2S), sulphur dioxide (SO2), chlorine gas (Cl2), hydrogen cyanide (HCN).
